Day 1 Discover GZ contest 2009

Introduction:
“Discover Guangzhou Reality show” is a large-scale reality show elaborately produced by Guangzhou English Channel（or now the GZTV I-Channel）. The show topped the audience rate on Guangzhou English channel in the last two seasons. Now the Third Season has begun to recruit foreign contestants. In this competition, they will race through Guangzhou’s amazing landscapes, solve riddles, interact with the locals, and of course, to win the game! The cameras will follow the contestants all the way and will truly present how they overcome difficulties and discover the uniqueness of Guangzhou!

What’s different in the 3rd Season?
The theme of the 3rd Season is “Finding people”. In the competition, each team consisting of only foreign contestants need to find the “right person” to help them finish the tasks, and “this person” must be a local Chinese with certain characteristics. This person’s performance and the whole team’s cooperation will decide they will win or lose.

Format:
In each episode, each team find a Chinese person to help them finish certain tasks. The losing team have to elimate a team menber. They will vote for who should leave, and this Chinese person who has helped them all the way has the right to make the final decision.

The 1st Series: Journey of Vitality--------6 episodes
The 2rd Series: Journey of Creatity-------6 episodes
The 3rd Series: Journey of Sunshine------6 episodes
The Final--------2 episodes

Rules of the Games:
1. There are 8 foreign contestants in each series. One contestant is eliminated in each round. After 6 rounds, the 2 contestants remained will go to the final.
2. In each round, contestants are devided into two teams. The losing team will eliminate one contestant. If one team has two more members then the other team,this team must vote for who should go to the other team
3. Each round, one contestant from the losing team has to be voted off by his/her teammates; the Chinese member in each team can agree with them OR save this contestant being voted off and eliminate another contestant.

Example of the Elimination:
Round 1:
4 vs 4 (team up by draw), one is eliminated.
Round2:
4 vs 3, one is eliminated. The result can be 3 vs 3, or 4 vs 2, then the team with 4 people must vote for who should go the other team.
Round 3:
3 vs 3, one is eliminated.
Round 4:
3 vs 2, one is eliminated. The result can be 2 vs 2, or 3 vs 1, then the team with 3 people must vote for who should go the other team.
Round 5:
2 vs 2, one is eliminated.
Round 6:
2 vs 1, one is eliminated. Two contestants will go to the final.

Prize:
Champion in the Final: BIG PRIZE
Prize for Episode 1 to 18: Each contestant wins 500RMB(including tax) for each episode, which means, the more rounds you can partipate, the more you can win. The prizes will be delivered after 20 episodes have been filmed.

Requirement of contestants:
Energetic, challenging, from other countries
Have time to participate in 6 rounds. (You never know when you will be eliminated, but you must prepare to win all the way and go the final.)
